Customer Review: Pack-in games barely save this product from being useless
When you first look at this product, it's hard not to get excited about
Spending hours with Mrs. Pacman. While you can still have a date with her, you will not be using this stick. The absolutely atrocious flimsiness of the actual stick will drive you mad as you unintentionally run into ghosts. The only thing that is cool about this thing is the click-wheel, which almost no game uses.
Now, for dischodians out there, the stick has a solid redeeming factor. It's a game in itself. Actually using this thing to play a game is one of the biggest challenges you will ever face. If you are just too good, and have become bored and disillusioned with your gaming experiences, ratchet up the difficulty a bit by using this so-called controller. Seriously, stay away unless you enjoy horrible things, and if that is the case, I value at 9 dollars. I use it as a backup controller when guests visit. If I value their company, I let them use a real controller.
Customer Review: Fairly suspect Madcatz product
I have purchased many madcatz products over the years and the ones I really liked such as the DREAMCAST PANTHER TRACKBALL all eventually broke. I was excited to get a stick for some of the LIVE ARCADE titles I have on disc for my 360 and while the controller worked well for PAC MAN and a few others the stick would get stuck in a corner to the top left sometimes and my biggest gripe the 3 LIVE ARACDE TITLES aren't on disc as I had hoped, they are downloadable cards with expiration dates and I don't have access to high speed internet where my console is, while I wouldn't buy it again I don't mind having a second controller for my 360 and this one has all the buttons and functions of a normal 360 so live and learn. Probably most gamers will find this an unsatisfying arcade stick replacement and want to go with a HORI, or Xarcade stick for real arcade action. That said the button atop the stick is great for LIVE ARCADE titles like TEMPEST, TIME PILOT etc. which really only require move and shoot.

Pioneer HTS-GS1 5.1-Channel Surround Sound System for the Xbox 360
Easy Set-up and Configuration
Everything you need to set up the HTS-GS1 is included in the box. Using the handy Quick Start Guide, we had the entire system wired in less than an hour. The easy-to-follow instructions and color-coded wires made the set up of the center speaker, subwoofer, and two rear and two front speakers a cinch. One word of warning: the included wires are an adequate length for a small-to-medium sized room, but if you really want to spread out, you'll need additional wiring to complete the task. But for our purposes, the HTS-GS1 provided everything we needed to get the job done.
The HTS-GS1 is an ideal choice for any small-to-medium sized space that is dedicated to Xbox 360 gaming. |
Once the speakers were in place, we took advantage of the system's auto MCACC microphone calibration technology. We simply placed the ultra high-end calibration microphone on the back of the couch -- directly behind our favorite gaming position -- and the HTS-GS1 automatically adjusted the sound for the distance, volume, speaker size, and equalization. Once the system calibrated the speakers to match the layout of our room, we were off to the races --literally -- tackling the toughest race tracks available on Project Gotham Racing 3.
Although all the connections were easy to distinguish and connect, we do have one complaint: there are loads and loads of wires to deal with. This is not a problem unique to the HTS-GS1, but we found it a bit ironic that a home-theater-in-a-box designed to complement the Xbox 360 -- a gaming system noted for its clean design and wireless capabilities -- would be so overloaded with wires.
Sleek, Xbox 360 Design
This surround sound system offers an attractive white design, accented with gray speaker grilles, and features five small satellite speakers (center, two front, and two rear), and a large subwoofer that is about the size of a standard CPU tower. Although the subwoofer is a bit bulky, it houses all of the system's electronics and connectivity jacks. And since this theater system lacks a DVD player (the assumption is you'll use your Xbox 360 for movies), the display unit is quite small; in fact, it's not much bigger than the included remote control. It features tiny, silver control buttons and a large, circular power button. The front panel delivered all the information we needed via a scrolling single-line display. The included easy-to-use remote control is packed with features, and, like the rest of the system, it also matches the Xbox 360 design. With it we could control all of the system's features, as well as our Xbox 360 gaming console.
Sound Designed for High-Performance Gaming
With the HTS-GS1 we could hear every audio effect the Xbox 360 had to offer -- from the lightest wind to bone-rattling explosions. The system delivers great audio performance with a powerful 600 watts of total RMS power, and dynamic 5.1-channel surround sound with Dolby Digital/Pro Logic II and DTS decoding. In addition to playing video games, the Xbox 360 also plays DVDs and MP3 files. We took advantage of both and spent an afternoon watching movies, and an evening listening to a stack of CDs. The system responded to every form of entertainment that we could throw at it -- games, film, and music -- with crisp, clear, and powerful sound.
The HTS-GS1 also features Front Stage Surround Sound, a virtual surround-sound feature. To test this function, we moved all the speakers to the front of the room. Through its sophisticated digital sound processing and directional speakers, the system can mimic surround sound without the hassle of running wires to additional rear speakers. Although the traditional surround sound set-up delivered the best audio surround sound quality, the Front Stage option was still much better than our regular, old television speakers.
The HTS-GS1 can be a bit pricey when compared to other home-theater-in-a-box systems, but Pioneer's design may trump the cost for those who want an attractive, surround-sound option that matches the Xbox 360's style. And even though his system may not be the optimal home-theater system choice for a large family room, the HTS-GS1 is an ideal choice for any small-to-medium sized space that is dedicated to Xbox 360 gaming.
Pros
- Attractive, Xbox 360 design
- Simple set-up and great sound
- Ideal for any small-to-medium sized gaming room
- Lots and lots of wires
- A bit pricey when compared to similar HTIBs
Receiver/subwoofer, five satellite speakers (two front, two rear, and one center), display unit, remote control, two AA batteries, two display unit stands, AM loop antenna, FM wire antenna, display unit cable, optical cable, power cord, five speaker cables, microphone (for Auto MCACC setup), non skid pads (small and large), mounting brackets, screws, operating instructions, and warranty card.
Customer Review: Awesome featureset, okay sound
Pioneer HTS-GS1 5.1-Channel Surround Sound System for the Xbox 360
I bought this HTIB for $120 shipped to compliment my primary home theater setup. I have cable box, a PS3, DVD player and a computer hooked up to this system.
The goods:
- plenty of contectivity. 2 optical and one coax input.
- Decodes almost every thing (Dolby DTS and other I don't even know about)
- Very small foot print
- Wall mountable/ very small speakers
- Fills up a small room with enough sound
The Bads:
- Sound is really just okay. Sounds much better than my 50 inch samsung TV.
- Music sounds horrible on these speakers, movies sound okay.
- No video (HDMI) inputs, at this price I don't know if it's fair to expect these
To wrap it up I'd say for the money these are pretty good but not a serious replacement for good sound system.
Customer Review: Great 5.1 dolby/DTS sound at a great price
(Please look at pictures in image gallery for picture of product setup) I purchased this system off ebay for a reasonable price. I would've bought it on Amazon, but it was not being offered on Amazon anymore. My setup consists of a Toshiba 37" LCD HDTV, a PS3, and a Dish Network HD box. At first I wasn't too sure if this would work with my PS3, but after reading tons of reviews for this system (on Amazon and several other sites) I decided that this was the perfect setup for me. At the time I ordered the system, my room was pretty small, about 10x10. I purchased this system, and I also purchased 2 sets (each set contains 2)of Atlantic 77305018 Satellite Speaker stands. There is a great little video tutorial on youtube that shows a young man unpacking his system and setting it up.
Though not necessary, it was nice for me to be able to see everything before I got the system. Made setting it up all the more easier. The hardest part of the install for me was running the speaker wire through the tube of the Atlantic speaker stand. But with patience and a ballpen to help push the wire down, I got it down the other side on all four stands. I then placed the satellites in the four corners of my room, and the center channel I placed in front of the TV, right in the center below it. (TV is on a stand) Best placement for center channel speaker is either right below TV or right on top of it, in the center. (as far as I know) I then adjusted the speaker stands (Great stands by the way!)so that they were about ear level. (measured them all with tape measure to make sure they were at equal height.) I then angled the front speakers inwards a bit, and placed the subwoofer/receiver directly to the right of the TV stand. (right of the TV while you are looking from it) I made all the connections, and then proceeded with the MCACC calibration. Note: I use HDMI to connect my ps3 and dish network satellite box to my television, then used digital optical cables to run both ps3 and Dish Network box to HTS-GS1. The system comes with one optical cable, it was a thin black plastic cable which looked pretty dinky, but does the job fine. I purchased another optical cable beforehand since I knew I would need it. I placed the system's box on top of my chair, then placed the microphone on top of the box. (make sure room is quiet as possible when doing test) The system began to emit a series of cool sounds for several minutes, which swept across the room. After this was done, I inserted Batman Begins into the Blu-Ray Player, then skipped to the batmobile chase scene. WOW! I was able to hear sounds which were completely lacking when watching it through the dull TV speakers. I heard screeching of tires, crashes, explosions, and when the Batmobile jumped through the waterfall I thought I was going to get splashed for a second!
Simply put, the 5.1 surround sound will change your home viewing experience. I then put in Metal Gear Solid 4, and played through a level in which artillery shells are being dropped all over the place. Holy battlefield Batman! This transformed my gaming experience completely. When I play Hot Shots Golf, I can hear birds and all kinds of funny stuff coming through the rear speakers. It is fantastic. For optimal sound, you will want these speakers at around ear level. Have the rear speakers in the corners of the room. Have the front left, front right, and center channel speaker at an equal distance from your listening position. Since I bought the system, I moved to a bigger room which is 16x15. I placed the rear speakers in the corners, center channel in same spot under TV, and have the front right and left speakers each about 36" to the sides of the TV. The sound is superb. I also purchased 5 wiremold white cordmate Kit #C110 from Amazon, which allowed me to conceal all the wiring which runs to the speakers. I highly recommend this as well if you want to conceal your speaker wiring. Overall, I would recommend this setup to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive way to truly enjoy 5.1 dolby and DTS. I know I could get better sound if I purchased a seperate receiver and speakers at a higher price, but for my purposes, this system suits me 100%. I wanted to enjoy dolby and dts for my games, movie, and Dish Network HD, and this has allowed me to do so. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Customer Review: Great Deal!
i wouldn't consider this so much a holiday bundle because ive seen plenty of times where xbox's were release with 2 game i.e. mine with marvel comic game/forza motorsports 2...at least its $400 instead of $450 now..the legos indiana jones game is fun for all ages but can be pretty complex with the puzzels if your really young but im sure the kung fu panda game will fullfill the younger generation..honestly though the xbox 360 is for the older generation i would suggest people purchase the wii if your purchasing for a kid

Customer Review: Great buy for $40.
I bought this player for $40 from a 3rd party vendor on Amazon. I know all of the studios backed out of supporting HD DVD, but for $40, you get a great upconverting dvd player as well as the ability to play the HD DVD's available. There are a ton of sites and stores getting rid of their HD DVD's for a fraction of what Blu Ray movies are selling for.
I watched King Kong on my 720p Samsung Plasma. Quality was excellent. Now I'm buying up HD DVD's when I can - Fry's has bins of them for $10 and under.
Customer Review: not a useful item anymore
well since the hd-dvd's have died off now this item is useless, maybe it will be worth something 20 years from now?

Customer Review: Semi-Pro Drum Setup
I've been banging on this equipment for a few weeks now and I love this set. It blows away the Rock Band 1 drums in almost every category. The pads have great bounce, the kick-pedal is looser than the rock band one so it is easy to double or triple-tap a beat out when needed, and the kit can be repositioned in a variety of way so it is awesome for people of various sizes.
If you have the money and play the music-beat games a few times a week, this is one piece of equipment that is perfect for you.
Setup time took about 40 minutes.
Customer Review: Great Kit!
After using the ION, I'll never go back to using any of the stock drum kits. The ION never drops notes and it's much nicer. There is a bit of a rubbery smell that comes off the pads though, so use it in a well-ventilated area.

Customer Review: The Next Gen Rainbow
I'll just get to the point...Graphics are obviously incredible especially when you play in HD, Gameplay is a very good step up - even though it's clearly imitating Gears of War with it's health, blind fire and cover system. Sound is about average for the next gen consoles, but you over sensitive marshmallows that can't handle frequent "adult" language might wanna set your parental setting to: Don't Buy This Game, Idiot! Theres alot of swearing especially when you're Terrorist Hunting where sound effects will consist of guns discharging, enemies swearing hilariously (I thought so) and explosives occasionally going off.
I know it might be considered too late to be typing up a review on RSV, but it's worth it. I originally bought this game when it came out in 2007 and I loved it immediately. It was different from all other R6 titles prior to it and stands out well amongst first-person-shooters. With an awesome multiplayer and a seriously challenging story mode, you'll be hooked. It took me a week to beat it on realistic (a chapter a day) and trust me, you're gonna need alot of patience, accuracy, cover and strategy - which is definitely what the programmers intended to extract from you. Buy and enjoy.
By the way, those of you that like to play for achievements might have a ridiculously frustrating time trying to unlock "Special Operations". It's the only one I'm missing and is known for being glitched TERRIBLY.
Customer Review: Great Game, Hard as Explative, but Great Game
This game is like if they Made GRAW into A FPS... I own both, they are both two of the best games out and this is almost 2 years after they were released...R6V is much harder than R6V2.. I still like R6V better than 2, I just like the environmental settings and missions better. I could see people getting really frusterated at this game because there are times where you are pretty lucky to make it through a level and the check points are very few and far between sometimes...Also do not turn of your xbox during a cutscene when you beat a mission or you will have to re do it. The thing that this game does is forces you to either get really good or just flat quit playing it.... It doesnt really ease you into the hard stuff...Matter of fact almost right off the bat you get ambushed and all of your team and weapons taken away cept for a pistol. Then you get to go head to head in closed quarters with about 30 guys with shotguns and no save point, Most likely this is the players breaking point...Either you will nut up and get through it and enjoy the game and know what it is all about or get pissed and stop playing right there.

Customer Review: Xbox Wireless Controller
Good Seller and fast shipping. Product works great and would highly recommend this seller. Thanks so much!
Customer Review: Good Controller
What can I say about this controller? It's sturdy and fits my hands well. Battery life on the controller is pretty good...it'll last me about 20-24 hrs. of playing time; howeve, people who game more often may want a rechargeable kit. It's funny how prices of the xbox360 goes down, but the controller stays the same. The controller is pricey but what are the other alternatives?

Customer Review: Adds depth to the game
The books were written very well in the story style of the game. Because of that it added quite a lot of depth to the characters and explained a lot of the less-elaborated on nuances of the storyline.

This case is a must for Xbox 360 gamers that travel. Currently deployed to middle east and I was able to ship 3 games, 1 controller, the power brick, 4 packages of beef jerky, 3 packets of gum, 2 packages of dried cranberrys to me all in perfect condition. I highly recommend this item to anyone. 5 Stars!
Customer Review: Xbox 360 Pro Gamer Case.
This case is great for the price! I love the way it is made for the 360 and everything fits in it perfect! Its not heavy at all. The only bad thing i found about it was that the clamps to lock lock it dont always match up perfect. Sometimes you have to push down on it to close it all the way. But other than that I love it.

This is an amazing headset that works just as well as the regular one. It is also a special edition and matches my special edition Halo 3 Xbox!
Buy this now if it is still available, they discontinued the production of this product! It is a must have for any true Halo fan!
Customer Review: Great, but not Perfect
I bought an open box Halo 3 Wireless Headset but it didn't work so I sent it to Microsoft. I had a brand new one in my hands in 3 days.
I have to say I'm pleased with it. It charges quick enough, and it fits on the ear pretty well. It is difficult, as I have gigantic ears, but it fits well enough so that it doesn't hurt. I did have some trouble with it not recognizing my voice until I started yelling. In Halo 3, you almost have to shout to get it to make the voice icon recognize that you area talking. Other than that and some minor static, it's a great headset. Would gladly get it again.

Customer Review: Playseat for Driving Force GT
Great seat for my Driving Force GT to play GT Prologue ... and also a nice seat for my kid while watching TV. The set up gives a good adjustment for length and height. The only star left for a perfect 5 is if an improvement can be devised to keep the swinging steering frame stable.
Customer Review: Good Playseat
I got this playseat classic in blue on sale last week for about $140. I was really excited when the price came down because I've been eyeing one and didn't want to spend $250 on it. I also bought the G25 racing wheel to go with it. It was after ordering it that I found out that the G25 wheel doesn't fit the playseat classic. This seat was made to fit the Logitech Driving Force GT perfectly. So if you have a PS3 and don't want to spend a lot of money on the G2, I would recommend the Driving Force GT. I wanted to keep the G25 so after googling I found several people that made it work so I was excited to try out some modifications. From the other reviewer on here they had said they used a 1x12 board so that's where I started. Using the provided velcro and some handy work I was able to mount the G25 pedal assembly. I connected the wood to the pedals using 5/16 x 1 1/2 inch screws. I then attached the whole thing to the metal plate of the playseat using 4 strips of velcro. I have added some pics of my handy work to the gallery (please enjoy). The one thing that I was excited about was the gearshift assembly mount, because that cost $50 if you were to order one. I made that from some shelving bracket and left over wood for about $2.
The review of the playseat over all is average. The seat itself is of good quality, but the frame is a little weak as many of the other reviewers had already said. The frame is flimsy but it's not overly flimsy that it's unusable. I think it's passable for the price you pay. The only really flimsy part is the single steering collumn where the body is attached to the steering wheel. Also the part where the metal rod attaches to the seat is also flimsy. If you want a more stable gaming seat I would consider getting the Playseat Evolution. The price is about $300 so you have to consider if you are willing to spend that much or not. Over all it works and I'm happy with it. It was worth the money I spent on it. My son and I are having a blast playing Dirt, Ridge Racer, Nascar 09 and Burnout Paradise on my PS3.

Customer Review: Must Have, Must Own, Must Experience
This console is by far the best you're gonna get this generation. Microsoft has come along way when you compare the Xbox 360 to it's brother the Xbox 1. Microsoft actually listended to what gamers wanted, and that's fun hardcore games, amazing online, and custimizable dashboards. This is truly a system that can't be beat, you can enjoy all types of games such as Gears of War 1 and 2 come this November 2008, Mass Effect, Halo 3 (probably 4 in a year or two) and Netflix on your 360. As always when there are goods things about something there are bad things too! As you may already know, these Xbox 360's suffer from what is known as the RROD or (Read Ring of Death) which is when you get three-flashing-red-lights which is an indicator of a severe hardware failure. Thank goodness Microsoft extended everyones warranty for free to 3 years, ONLY if you experience the 3rrod error. Lastly, the customer service @ Microsoft sucks, they don't care about your issue, the people you speak to are overseas and don't speak english clearly enough to communicate to you as to what the solution will be, and again THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKKKKKKSS!!! Other than that the 360 beats it's competitors by far. Kudos to Microsoft for making a system that just can't be beat, but Microsoft work on your customer service a LOT more because in the end that goes along way as to where you stand with your reputation.
Customer Review: Great customer service
I've seen some previous reviews and highly disagree with 'em. People, if you wanted memory alongside this, you shoulda read the description better. As for me, these people have done nothing but watch my back. I purchased one way back in January and it still runs smooth as silk. I had all my cords and memory and whatnot from my previous and busted 360. and in my opinion, it ran better. When I went to buy another as a gift for a friend, the first thing that happened was they asked me if it was because the last one I bought was busted already. They gave me instructions that were not only beneficial but very kind. These people look out for their customers unlike the rest of of the customer services I dealt with. I for one have never once made a regret of buying this. But for those who just rush shop and not pay attention, then, yeah, let the buyer beware.

The bottom layer is a soft, flexible vinyl with a special removable adhesive that is easily positioned, applied without air bubbles, and effortlessly removed without leaving a sticky residue. Next we print the bottom layer with UV protected, fade resistant inks that deliver superb photo quality designs in vibrant colors. Finally we bond a professional grade laminate over the entire skin adding a glossy protective finish.

Customer Review: I'll play LIVE for Five hours a day......and never get tired
I already have 10 xbox 360 games and I luv the Elite console. I put a Turbo cooler fan on the back and I let the fan run for five minutes even after I turn the console off. This should extend the life of my Xbox 360 Elite. There's an abundance of cutting edge technology games being released in these next three or four months, so this was definately the right time to go Xbox 360.
Customer Review: my pc has a 500 gig drive
Why did I just pay this much money for a PC with worse controls, much simpler games, and fewer functions?
I'm really disappointed in myself. I thought I should bite the bullet and get a console, but this thing is terrible. I already have a computer, dammit! All the good games for this system are already out on PC, and when you use a mouse, you don't have to rely on auto aim to compensate for the crap controls.
Check eBay. Mine will be cheap.

Thought to be the last surviving Spartan soldier, Master Chief possesses a unique trait that has made him both a hero and symbol of hope in the eyes of humanity, and a "demon" in the minds of his enemies. That trait? A rare combination of skill and luck that has seen him through many battles, including the destruction of two HALO installations. Measures 6" tall.
Customer Review: Highly detailed. Difficult to set up the position shown in the picture. Does not stand firmly.
Highly detailed. I liked the feature of a movable thumb on on the hand that holds the trigger. Difficult to set up the position shown in the picture. I spent a long time trying to figure out how to set up the figure shown in the product picture. The weapons, the grenade and and the gun can not be fixed to the body of the figure easily. There is a small removable plastic piece that sticks out of the weapons for them to be attached to the body. That piece can not be inserted completely into neither the body of the figure nor the weapon itself, which destroys the over all look with the high quality details on the weapons and the figure. Does not stand firmly, but the toes are attached to the feet by a separated joint which helps a bit.
Customer Review: amazing.......... but fragile
first off this is by far the best action figure i have ever recived and the first of my halo colection.the one problem i had was when i first got the spatain laser in his hand it fit well (after pulling on the fingers to open up more)then when i put it on a second time the thumb on his right hand came of. i fixed it, it had a peg and the hole was in the hand. but it fell off if i wasn't carfull. so i just used a dab of super glue and its fine. so be carfull with the right hand. besides that whole drama this figure is amazing! five stars!

Cherry Sunburst Desgin Guitar Hero III Gibson Les Paul Guitar Controller Skin Decal Sticker for Wii and Xbox 360/ PS3
Scatch Resistant Skin Sticker protect and personalize your Wii or Xbox 360/PS3 Guitar Hero III Guitar controller. Self-adhesive plastic-coated skins cover the Guitar controller, and they are paper-thin so they do not add any bulk. Skins are easy to apply (no bubbles), durable and easily removable without any residue. When applying the skin, you've got to make sure that the surface is totally clean of any oil or sweat!
Customer Review: Dramatically changes the look of your controller
Compared to the stark, plain white look of the stock controller, this skin really pops.
The skin itself is reasonably easy to apply. I managed to get the main body skin on without any bubbles by myself, but it probably would have been easier to do with some help. The adhesive takes a little while to cure so you can peel it back and restick it many times if you get a small bubble or if the alignment is off. Speaking of which, the die cut isn't 100% precise but the vinyl is flexible enough that you can stretch or bend it without it bunching up. There's still slivers of white around the edges though, but overall you'd have to look pretty closely to tell. I didn't put the headstock decal on yet since it covers up the Gibson logo.
As far as the look goes, that's where I'm holding back the last star. It's called a "cherry" sunburst, but it's really just an orange-red radial gradient. There's no hint of wood grain in the print, which I would have liked to add that extra little touch of realism. The pick guard, pickups and even the strings that are printed on look fantastic though. Another reason I didn't put the headstock decal on is because there aren't any strings printed on it coming off the holes where the tuning pegs would be. If you get the Wii version, be sure to put the remote decal on because it'll look really weird without it.
Customer Review: Great Way to Personalize Your Guitar Hero III Axe
The "skin" stickers for Wii's Guitar Hero III Gibson Les Paul Guitar are just the thing to make your axe (guitar) stand-out in a competition. When you order one, it is shipped in a LARGE (15 x 18 or so) reinforced envelope that is flat, and it came by USPS, so if someone isn't home to receive it, you'll be making a trip to the post office, but that trip is worth it because the decal is a beauty.
I chose the Cherry Sunburst because I have a Les Paul with a Cherry Sunburst finish. The skin is easy to remove from its backing, and goes on easy. I put the head stock on first at the end of the fret bar, so I could get a feel for the skin. The skin is very forgiving, allowing you to remove it for replacement if it gets askewed while applying. Like most skins, you'll get a few bubbles in it, but you can smooth those out by working them out from the center to the outside.
I applied all of the skins, including the one to the control. Speaking of which, be sure to open the slits where the speaker is on the control. Those almost have to be poked-out with a round edge of a paper clip (don't use a knife unless your hand is real steady because you may accidentally cut the opening larger than it is already).
Overall, this is a great product and you can find it with several dozen designs.

Talismoon "PSU Energyzer" Xbox 360 to ATX Power Supply Adapter Cable
Replace your original power supply with a standard ATX Computer power supply of your choice. Now you can have an inexpensive replacement, or, opt for more power, less noise, or both. Replace your original power supply with a standard ATX Computer power supply of your choice. Now you can have an inexpensive replacement, or, opt for more power, less noise, or both! The PSU Energyzer requires no assembly or wiring - just plug it in, turn on your PC power supply, and turn on your Xbox 360.
The PSU Energyzer is a special cable with an OEM Xbox 360 power plug on one end, and a 20 pin ATX connector on the other.
Please note that the original Xbox 360 Power Supply provides 203 watts, and 12v DC current at 16.5 amps, and 5v DC at 1 Amp. For the PSU energyzer to work, your PC power supply must provide this much SUSTAINED power at a minimum. Many PC power supplies are rated for PEAK power instead of sustained power, so you must check the label of your power supply to see if it provides enough sustained power.
Customer Review: Works perfect with "Falcon" 175W Xbox360 unit
Purchased this conversion kit because wanted to get rid of the annoying whining fan noise from the stock 175W power supply.
As previous reviews suggested, please make sure your computer power supply can support the power rating,
Here the power rating from the 175W power brick from XBOX
12V - 14.2A
5V - 1A
Please check the sticker on your computer power supply before you plug into your xbox! MAKE SURE the 12V rail can supply at least 14.2A!! (or at least 16.5A if you have an older XBOX uses 203W power brick). If your computer power supply cannot handle this, don't use it!
I am using a Corsair HX520 power supply to hook to my XBOX, as this power supply is almost silent. Been running in the setup for almost a week now and haven't yet to hit any problem (4+ hour of running per day).
In conclusions:
Pros:
- Works with the newer 175W "Falcon" XBOX, people can use this cable to swap to a regular computer supply for quieter operation or lower replacement cost.
- Installation is a breeze, just plug and play. (but do make sure your computer power supply can support enough current)
- Cable build quality is good and feels sturdy.
Cons:
- Might not be for everyone because getting a suitable power supply requires understanding of the power rating and might confuse people.
- Probably not happens to all: but the fan on my power supply started running once I plugged the conversion cable into the computer power supply (even though the XBOX is off). Does anyone have the same problem? I'll try to swap to other power supplies some other days when I get a chance.
Customer Review: Doesn't work with new 360
I just got my 360 back from a RROD repair, and now it doesn't work at all with this cable. I'm using a modular 400W psu, and it was working before I sent the console out for repair. I assume that they just replaced the console with a newer version, and I'm having the same problems others mentioned here. If you're not sure if your xbox will work with this unit you should probably steer clear.
